Round Two: Metabolic Approach to Weight Control

What types of foods burn faster when you eat them? Is it really possible to love your food and lose weight? What is the secret to not feeling tortured or deprived by an eating plan? Don't miss our second conversation with metabolic doctor Reza Yavari, who runs Beyond Care in Madison, Conn., and is on the staff of Yale's Northeast Medical Group in Trumbull, Conn.

Yavari, who trained at Yale, is an endocrinologist who has spent years studying weight loss research on behalf of patients who need to shed some pounds, have diabetes, or are obese. His clients are a living laboratory, says Yavari, and he has learned from them what works and what doesn't work. "There are countless myths about weight control," Yavari added. "There is no one size fits all, though we know now that protein is better for weight control than carbs."

We'll ask Yavari:

  3. Whether we should pay any attention to the new government study about sugar and cholesterol
  4. What women can do to lose weight as easily as men do
