Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff said there's "general agreement on the parameters" of a deal to cover Connecticut's current budget shortfall.
Duff said Monday he expects the Democratic-controlled Senate and House of Representatives will vote Tuesday on an agreement he believes Democratic Governor Dannel Malloy will sign.
Senate Democrats were being briefed on the details of the plan, which legislative staff worked on over the weekend. Duff said there's a lot of agreement between legislative Democrats and Malloy on the proposal, which includes $350 million in cuts this fiscal year and $212 million in the next fiscal year.
The total state budget is about $20 billion. Duff said some Republican ideas are included in the plan.
Lawmakers have been unable to reach a final bipartisan agreement, citing policy differences.
