Today we'll talk about the art of biography. When you think about it, it's a strange thing for a writer to do. Spending years learning every detail of another human's life.

Do biographers ever get sick of their subjects? Do they rue the day they decided to immerse themselves in another person's life? Or do they get infatuated?

We'll talk with Blake Bailey, who is currently working on a biography of Philip Roth. His last book was about a long-forgotten writer, who spent many years in Newtown. And we'll talk with Connecticut native David Margolick, author of a new biography called Dreadful: The Short Life and Gay Times of John Horne Burns. Burns taught for several years in Windsor.

And we take your calls. What are your favorite biographies?
