Our new WNPR News website enables us to offer more extensive local and national news coverage for the citizens of Connecticut.
The new WNPR News website at WNPR.org is powered by the WNPR news staff as well as NPR’s global news service. As an 8-time winner of the Mark Twain Award for Overall Station Excellence in Connecticut, WNPR brings its award-winning coverage of arts, health, education, politics, business and environment to this new site, in addition to the content of its signature radio shows: Where We Live, The Colin McEnroe Show and The Faith Middleton Show. In the coming months, the site will evolve to include contributions from individuals and other news and cultural organizations around the state.
Jerry Franklin, President & CEO of CPBN, commented on how this new online service is part of broader plan at the statewide network. “The long term goal of our digital strategy is to better serve our current listeners and viewers, and to attract a new audience—readers on the web—as we add a third platform to our strong radio and television platforms.” Franklin continued, “We’re energized to have a new outlet for WNPR’s nonpartisan, high standard of journalism.”

With the relaunch of the WNPR News site, the station’s sister website, YourPublicMedia.org, is migrating all of its content to the new WNPR.org.
Coming later this year, CPBN will also relaunch new websites for CPTV, CPTV Sports, CPTV Kids and more.
