Voters Weigh in On Primary Day in Connecticut

It's Primary Day in Connecticut and I'm excited about it.

For the first time in a long time, Connecticut voters feel they have a say in which candidate moves on to the general election in November, most of whom spent time speaking to voters in Connecticut this weekend.

Each candidate spends a lot of time in Iowa and New Hampshire, often shaping their message to fit the contours of these early voting states in order to make it to the next round. When candidates fall away due to low support, voters in late primary states like Connecticut don't always have an opportunity to vote for the candidate of their choice.

A lot of voters would like to see changes to this system that some say preference some states at the expense of others. But, the primary systemis a conversation for another day.

This hour, we celebrate voting and all the people who vote. We talk to voters from across the state who have volunteered to be our Primary Day Citizen Observers of what's happening at their polling places.
