Wesleyan University said two of the five students arrested on drug charges following a rash of on-campus overdoses have been expelled.
Vice President for Student Affairs Michael Whaley said in a campus-wide letter that the judicial process is continuing for the other three students, who are currently suspended.
A dozen people were hospitalized over one weekend in late February after taking a drug that was presented as Molly, a popular name for the euphoria-inducing stimulant MDMA.
Whaley said the private liberal arts school of 3,200 students is looking into possible changes to campus drug policies. He said a task force made of students, faculty, parents, and others will gather data over the summer and present recommendations to the university administration before the end of the fall term.
