Trinity College Closes Campus After Threats Against Professor

By Amherst2005 (www.creativecommons.org)
Trinity Collge in Hartford

Trinity College in Hartford shut down as police investigate threats against the campus. The threats were targeted at a professor who made racially charged comments on Facebook.

The post, by sociology professor Johnny Williams, included a link to another article about the shooting at the congressional baseball practice in Virginia, an article which the school has called “inflammatory.”

It also included a profane hashtag by Williams – which has been reported by conservative news outlets The Washington Times and The Blaze as a call for white people to “die.”

Williams has denied that was his intention.

Hartford Police say the threats against the campus have come in by phone and social media, and that they are assisting Trinity with the investigation, but that there is no immediate threat to safety.
