During our newest on-air visit with The Trip Doctor, Amy Farley of Travel + Leisure magazine, she steers us in the direction of a new report about a super low fare to Europe, as long as you're willing to make a stop in Iceland.
The news on this first broke in early February, when Paste posted a story about Icelandic Air's new venture, Icelandic Airline WOW. This fleet of jets will fly customers from Washington, D.C. to Reykjavik's Airport for $99. From there, you can reportedly take a connecting flight for an additional $80 to major European destinations, such as Paris, Rome, London, Amsterdam, and Barcelona. That's a flight to, say, Paris, for $180.
There are few amenities on the airline, such as meals and in-flight entertainment, but the price is said to include an 11-pound bag and taxes. (You can buy snacks on board.) The airline hopes to expand from D.C. to Boston as a departure point.
