Open enrollment for the second year of the Affordable Care Act ends in one month, but how many people have signed up so far?
Jason Madrakis Chief Marketing Officer for Access Health CT, the state insurance marketplace responsible for implementing Obamacare in Connecticut. He said since the beginning of open enrollment, more than 200,000 applications have come through his system.
"That's inclusive of both people who have come to us for the first time as well as any individual who has renewed again during the period beginning on November 15," Madrak said.
Access Health CT processed about 24,000 new applications for private insurance and nearly 84,000 applications for Medicaid, the insurance program for the poor.
To date, Madrak said ConnectiCare has taken the majority of new registrations in private plans: about 43 percent.
Open enrollment ends February 15. Read more about enrollment numbers here.
