Regina Louise: A Story Of Resiliency In Foster Care

Growing up, author Regina Louise bounced around the foster care system, experiencing one unsuccessful placement after another.

This hour, Louise joins us in studio to talk about her search to find a sense of belonging, and how her experience in the foster system has inspired her to be a voice for other children today.

We also hear from a young Connecticut woman about the challenges she faced when she “aged out” of state care at age 18.

Plus -- the landscape for being HIV positive is radically different now than when the first World AIDS day was observed almost 30 years ago.

We’ll talk with a young man about living with HIV in 2017.

GUESTS:

  • Regina Louise - Advocate for at risk children, leadership coach, and author of Somebody’s Someone and forthcoming book Someone Has Led This Child to Believe: A Case History of Love
  • Alana Farnsworth - Student at University of Saint Joseph who was formerly in the CT foster care system
  • Kyle Rodriguez - Youth HIV advocate at AIDS Project New Haven
