Picking Up The Pieces In Puerto Rico After Hurricane Maria

Sep 27, 2017

Hurricane Maria has left Puerto Rico devastated, without electricity, running water and months if not years of recovery ahead. If you were watching cable news, though, the crisis was overshadowed by President Trump's rally speech and tweetstorm denouncing NFL players protesting during the national anthem.

While this was happening, Trump's pick in the Alabama Senate primary lost, as did the latest GOP attempt to "repeal and replace" Obamacare. Now Trump is embracing the winner of that Senate race and he's meeting with Democrats about his tax plan.

And Connecticut is the last state without a budget deal, but some federal deadlines are looming, which might mean a vote on a new hospital tax this week.
