Newtown Concert Features Some of America's Best-Known Fiddlers

Grammy-winning violinist Mark O’Connor, nationally celebrated duo Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, and premier fiddler Bruce Molsky are among the musicians who will be in Connecticut on Sunday December 1 to perform during a concert called Strings For Newtown. The program begins at 3:00 pm at Newtown Congregational Church.

Julie Lyonn Lieberman is an eclectic styles violinist, composer and producer who lives in Newtown. She told WNPR that she wanted to organize the event because “there are only a very few choices after a tragedy occurs. One is to fall apart and let it run you for the rest of your life. The other is to turn to and foster community and transformation, to do something positive for anyone you can reach.”
