Workers in the fast food industry in Hartford and New Haven are taking part in a nationwide day of action today, campaigning for higher wages.

Organizers say picket lines will be held outside a Dunkin Donuts and a Subway outlet in Hartford this morning. The action in New Haven marks the first time fast food workers in that city have joined the movement.

Protests are expected in 100 cities across the nation as employees campaign for wages to be raised to $15 an hour.
