Implementer Bill Updates Legislation Creating Connecticut Port Authority

Governor Dannel Malloy signed a bill creating the statewide Port Authority last June.

In the implementer bill passed today, the state legislature updated and expanded upon the legislation, passed last summer, that established the Connecticut Port Authority.

Governor Dannel Malloy signed a bill creating the statewide Port Authority last June. The language in the implementer bill updated and expanded on the previously passed legislation.

The Port Authority will be responsible for the state’s harbors and ports, with a focus on Connecticut’s three deepwater ports: in Bridgeport, New Haven, and New London.

The Port Authority will officially come into existence on October 1, 2015.
