Gov. Malloy presented a 36-page document Thursday during a closed-door meeting with legislative leaders.
Governor Dannel Malloy is offering a long list of spending items that lawmakers can cut to help balance the state budget.
The options range from reducing funding for mental health services and municipal aid to closing a prison.
The Democrat presented the 36-page document Thursday during a closed-door meeting with Democratic and Republican legislative leaders. It was obtained by The Associated Press through an open records request.
It's unclear how many of Malloy's ideas will be welcomed by lawmakers, who hope to reach an agreement on how to close an estimated $350 million to $370 million shortfall in the current $20 billion budget.
Minority Republicans plan to publicly release their proposed $370 million in budget modifications Friday.
A special session may be scheduled next month.
