The boss is moving out alongside the company. The Connecticut house of General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt has been listed for sale.
Immelt recently bought an $8 million condo unit in Boston, and now his New Canaan home is on the market for an asking price of $5.5 million. The 10,000-square-foot home has six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, and sits on four acres of grounds.
GE said it plans to have its new Boston headquarters up and running by this summer.
It had previously announced that around 200 of its employees would relocate to Massachusetts, with up to 600 moving instead to Norwalk.
The decision not to move all of its executives en masse has somewhat relieved fears for impact of the move on the Fairfield County housing market.
