It's official: a gallon of gas now costs less than $3.00 in Connecticut. According to AAA's statewide survey, it's the first time in over four years that the average price has dipped below that mark.

Just this summer, the state average was $3.98.

Despite the fall, we still have the fourth most expensive gas in the nation, behind only New York, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Home Sales Up, Prices Down

Home sales in Connecticut continued their upward climb in October, with a seven percent gain over the same month last year. According to the Warren Group, 2014 sees the market holding steady so far, with a drop of less than one percent in the year to date.

But the recent increase in sales isn’t bringing prices with it. October saw the eighth straight fall in median prices, down more than three percent.

Edible Arrangements Founder Branching Out

Tariq Farid, the founder of Wallingford’s Edible Arrangements franchise, has announced a new venture. He’s taking over an Atlanta-based software company that specializes in products to help with franchise management.

The company, which he’ll rename Naranga, already sells to hundreds of franchises. Farid said he’s expanding the company’s offerings to help with sales, inventory, and operations.
