Feeling The Effects Of Hurricane Harvey

Texas Governor Greg Abbott called Hurricane Harvey "one of the largest disasters America has ever faced." The devastating storm has dumped more than 40 inches of rain on Houston, the most "extreme rain event" in U.S. history. It has displaced thousands, and rescue efforts continue.

Over the weekend, President Trump took advantage of the "higher ratings"that the storm brought to announce he's pardoning controversial Sheriff Joe Arpaio. In a Friday memo, he also re-upped his promise to ban transgender Americans from serving in the military. His defense secretary said "not so fast."

This hour, we talk the latest national news, and it's back-to-school time in Connecticut. UConn's new Hartford campus is up and running.

And what about that budget?
