The Ethics of Privacy: The Last Two Decades

The data breach that affected Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in February affected more than a million and a half current and past Connecticut members. Most recently, Anthem announced they’ll be sending letters to those whose data was possibly leaked, offering them two years of free credit monitoring. We'll get an update.

And despite data breaches, we continue to put our trust into these major corporations. Do we have a choice? This hour, we’ll listen back on an “ideas” panel from New Haven Arts and Ideas Festival kick-off party.

It’s pretty obvious to most of us that technology has changed enormously in the last two decades, and it may have changed our lives even more than that. But, with these innovations have come new questions about privacy, civil rights and ethics that we’ve never had to consider before.

We’ll talk about some big ideas on the ethics of privacy over the past two decades.
