Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy took part in a U.S. and Chinese climate change summit in Los Angeles Tuesday.Malloy says Connecticut’s climate change initiatives including the first-in-the-nation Green Bank, which leverages public and private funds to drive investment and scale up clean energy projects, drew the attention of Chinese leaders. He says major Chinese cities are committing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

“In cooperation and with the permission of their national government so it is indicating on a long-term basis a change in the national government’s policies,” said Malloy.

The White House says a declaration to take action against climate change and expand dialogue between the two nations is expected to be signed before the summit ends Wednesday.
