Libraries might be changing faster than just about any other part of public life. These civic institutions were known for more than a century for their voluminous stacks of books and quiet spaces - now, they’re all about public events, high-tech connectivity, even 3-D printing!

Today, we broadcast live from the 122nd Connecticut Library Association Annual Conference in Cromwell.  They represent some 1000 librarians and the 170 plus libraries in the state. Their focus this year is all about our towns, our state and their profession - one that includes helping people get jobs, helping children to learn how to read, and helping to provide services for seniors.

The technology piece is changing fast, too - that’s realized in a bill now in front of the state legislature that would increase access to ebooks for library patrons.

So, what challenges do you face? What do you see as the future of libraries? What innovative things are happening at your local libraries?
