The search for a Hartford mother who has been missing for a week has ended in tragedy. The body of 23-year-old Tashuana Jackson was found in Bloomfield on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday night, Jackson climbed into the passenger side of a friend's truck on Barbour Street and never came home. The truck was later confiscated, and the driver questioned, but he was not charged with a crime.
Friends and family were immediately concerned after Jackson's disappearance, and insisted that Jackson would never have left her home and her five-year-old son on her own volition.
The Hartford Police Department called Jackson's disappearance "very suspicious," and the Hartford major crimes unit conducted a search.
A candlelight vigil was held Monday evening near the site where Tashauna Jackson disappeared. Volunteers and police began searching in Hartford's Keney Park on Tuesday morning, and by noon there was word that a female body was found on Granby Street in Bloomfield, just a few miles from the park.

The Bloomfield Police Department, which is now in charge of the investigation, had not yet identified the victim. Bloomfield police later said the body appeared to be the same race and age range as Jackson.
