Today's show is already breaking some kind of record for communications from the outside world received in advance of the actual episode. As soon as the promo started airing, we started getting emails, and what those emails told us was:
a. that people who keep chickens really love them, sometimes.
b. that people who are not allowed to keep chickens feel oppressed.
So we are now aware of a chicken revolutionary movement in New London. And we have a photo of a little girl named Anna sharing a slice of pizza with a hen named Matza.
And we have quite a bit more information than we used to about urban chicken ordinances. And we have copies of quite a few rooster paintings by an artist named Susan Prentice. We have all this without actually doing a show yet.
But now we're going to plunge into the world of backyard chickens. And we have real live chickens in the studio, just to remind us of what we're talking about, lest we become too abstract.
