The physicians of Yale Medicine will remain within Anthem’s network. The provider group and the health insurance company said Wednesday that they came to terms, just three days before a deadline that would have seen them part ways.
The contract terms were not released, but Anthem said the agreement includes "new approaches to managing cost and quality." Lawmakers had expressed concern about the potential breach between the two, and the disruption it would have caused to patients.
Yale Medicine represents about 1,400 doctors.
Vo-Tech Schools At Risk
The state Department of Education says one way it could meet proposed budget cuts for next year is to close two of its technical high schools, and eliminate athletics programs in the rest of the system.
Governor Dannel Malloy has asked for suggestions from agencies of how they could make 10 percent cuts to their budgets in the next biennium. The Education Department proposal would cut more than $16 million from the vo-tech system, as well as making cuts to magnet and charter schools.
